What do the Information, Advice and Guidance Services Offer?
The Information, Advice and Guidance Services helps people make informed education, career, and life choices by providing impartial and confidential Information, Advice, and Guidance to adults regarding their education, training, and career options. Our service is free of charge.
You can meet with a professional and qualified Guidance Adviser in a confidential setting to discuss your education and training needs. We also provide group information and guidance to adult education classes.
The Information, Advice and Guidance Services is for adults who:
- Are uncertain about their future.
- Are considering returning to or continuing with education?
- Are having difficulty in finding or keeping suitable employment due to a lack of appropriate education qualifications.
The service is open to the general public.
Our Service is:

The Guidance Adviser will help you to:

- Provide you with all the education options available that suit your needs.
- Research your education and training options.
- Help you understand the funding supports, entry requirements and qualification levels.
Wolverhampton Immediate Needs Support Initiative
Key Aims:
- Combating Vulnerability and Homelessness: We aim to break the cycle of unemployment and address the complex needs of vulnerable populations, including those at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
- Empowering Individuals: We strive to empower individuals to overcome barriers, achieve their full potential, and transition towards stable and fulfilling lives.
- Promoting Community Inclusion: We are committed to fostering inclusive communities where all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances, have equal opportunities.
Key Activities:
- Direct Support and Advocacy: We provide personalised advice, guidance, and advocacy to individuals facing challenges such as unemployment, housing instability, and access to essential services.
- Targeted Training and Skills Development: We offer tailored training programs and workshops designed to enhance employability, life skills, and independent living skills.
- Community Outreach and Engagement: We actively engage with vulnerable individuals through outreach initiatives, building trust and connecting them with vital support services.
- Holistic Support: We address the multifaceted needs of individuals by providing support in areas such as housing, benefits, mental health, and substance abuse, alongside material support.
- Partnership and Collaboration: We work closely with partner organisations and community resources to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
